SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON - MARCH 21ST

Amazing Deliverance

Lesson Passage:  Exodus 12:1-14

BIBLICAL TRUTH - The Lord reveals to people how they can experience His amazing deliverance. Commentary by Bob Dunston, Professor & Chairman of the Dept. of Religion & Philosphy at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY.

“I can hardly believe things turned out so well,” said Mike. “First, our mortgage payment doubled. Then gas prices skyrocketed. My salary and your extra money from substitute teaching could not cover our rising expenses. I felt trapped and hopeless.”

“We had to make some tough decisions,” responded Diane, “but things turned out fine. This smaller house is comfortable and is much closer to your job. The children seem to like their new school and are making friends. You know, we could not have done this without God’s guidance and strength. He delivered us!”

While we might be able to get ourselves out of some stressful situations in which we feel trapped, only through faith in Jesus Christ can we find deliverance from sin’s penalty and destructive power. We cannot undo our past actions and words or wriggle out of consequences. We cannot purify our own hearts no matter how hard we try. Through Christ, God has provided amazing deliverance from sin.

What financial or physical struggles have you faced in life? What spiritual struggles have you faced? How has God delivered you?
