Is God Still Working in the World?

Lesson Passage:  Mark 4:14-32


BIBLICAL TRUTH
God is active in the world today, working through His people and growing His kingdom. Commentary by Darryl Wood, Pastor of Vincent First Baptist Church in Vincent, Alabama.

 “If someone had told me how much this week would mean in my life, I never would have believed it,” Martin explained. He stood before his home church congregation to report on his participation in a mission trip. Martin described some of the incidents that affected him so profoundly during the week. For the first time he saw people respond favorably to his Christian testimony. Martin built relationships with members of the mission church. They expressed to him how much the team’s presence encouraged them.
 Martin professed, “The whole week I sensed God right there beside me. He prepared the way, and I got to be a part of His work in that place.” Martin experienced one of the truly exciting things that can happen to any believer. He found himself in a place where God was at work already. And Martin got to be involved in it.
 Many Christians rejoice when they become a part of something special God is doing. They see readily how they fit into His plan. Others, however, wonder if God is at work anywhere; although they are searching genuinely for a place they fit in.
