Choose Wisely

BIBLICAL TRUTH
All people must choose either to live in relationship with God and experience life or to live apart from God and end in ruin.


 On August 27, 2000, my mother died quite suddenly and unexpectedly. Her passing was a shock to all of us, because Mom apparently was recovering nicely from her knee replacement surgery just four weeks earlier.
 On September 1, family and friends gathered to honor her memory and celebrate her life. Many gave testimony to Mom’s influence on their lives. We shed a few tears, of course, but we also rejoiced as we especially remembered an important choice Mom had made.
 Early in life, Mom made a choice to give her life to Jesus Christ. Despite health challenges, she provided many a wonderful example of living triumphantly amidst adversity. She had a close relationship with the Lord in this life; and because of that, she now enjoys eternal life in His presence. My earliest memories are of Mom telling me about Jesus, and over the years I have come to understand the precious heritage I received from my Christian parents.

 What would you say are the three most important life choices that adults can make?
 Life is a series of choices, and all choices have consequences. The consequences of our choices either will be for our betterment or will work to destroy us. No greater choice exists than whether to live in right relationship with God.
 The consequences of this decision are life or death, heaven or hell, blessing or curse. The Bible tells us that those who choose to live God’s way are blessed with abundant life. Those who reject God’s way experience emptiness, futility, and condemnation.
