Commentary by Darryl Wood, Pastor of Vincent First Baptist Church in Vincent, Alabama. 

Ramona’s new job excited her. As an executive assistant in the human resources department of a large corporation, she interacted with numerous people on a daily basis. Ramona thrived on helping people achieve their best.

 After a couple of weeks on the job, however, one of Ramona’s coworkers, Brett, snapped at her for what appeared to be no reason. A few days later, it happened again. Brett’s remarks stung Ramona. Someone else in the office noticed what had occurred and sidled up to Ramona during a break time. In a sympathetic, whispered tone, the woman said, “Try not to let Brett get to you. He doesn’t play well with others.”

 Any person who interacts with people on a regular basis encounters folks who make having a good relationship with them difficult. Some are not sensitive to the feelings of other people. For various reasons, some people develop sour personalities. And it shows in their inability to get along with others.

 How do you react when you find yourself around people who do not “play well with others”? 

No one can avoid abrasive people completely. This lesson will help you develop some skills that will aid you in getting along better with other people.
